Upcoming Foldable Smartphones in 2019: It looks like 2019 is going to be the year of foldable smartphones. Samsung’s foldable smartphone which we’ve been hearing about for over a year now is expected to alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 at the Galaxy Unpacked Event this year. According to the rumors, the name of the upcoming Samsung Foldable Phone is the Galaxy Flex or the Galaxy F.
Samsung showcased the Samsung Galaxy F behind closed doors at CES 2019. A leaked teaser video shared by Samsung Vietnam shows that the Samsung Galaxy F might feature a 4.58-inch cover display while the inner foldable panels diagonally measure at 7.3 inches. Moreover the Samsung Galaxy F to come with triple rear cameras.
The Royal FlexPai is the first commercially available foldable phone in the world. The Royal FlexPai uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SOC with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and another with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone runs Android 9 (Android Pie) with the company’s custom Water OS skin. The 16 MP and 24 MP cameras both face forward to take a selfie. The FlexPai needs to be in tablet mode and if you want to take a regular photo.
Xiaomi is working on a double folding smartphone. The company shared a video which shows a prototype of the upcoming foldable smartphone in action. The video shows a device with very thin bezels which can be folded from the left and right edges to switch from tablet to smartphone mode. This smartphone will run an optimized version of MIUI to seamlessly scale the content. This will be the world’s first double folded smartphone when it launches this year.
