The Samsung Galaxy M30 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro from Samsung and Xiaomi respectively are budget smartphones with similar specifications. But let’s take a look at which one of the two is the best and offers value for money. Both of these phones offer you the latest designs. You get a water drop notch design.

Both the Samsung Galaxy M30 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro are made out of plastic but have a very good looking and ergonomic design. Both phones pack big batteries but they’re not bulky. Although the Redmi Note 7 Pro is slightly heavier at 186 grams compared to Galaxy M30 despite packing a smaller battery. Both phones have features like USB-C, dual microphones, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and dual or triple camera set up on the back.

Both these phones sit comfortably in the hand’s thanks to their rounded corners and edges. There is no third slot to put your second SIM if you want to expand the storage on the Galaxy M30. You do get an option to add two SIM cards and a micro SD card to expand storage on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Galaxy M30 uses a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Samsung Galaxy M30 has a Super AMOLED panel versus an IPS LCD display on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The contrast and color accuracy are slightly better on the Galaxy M30 when compared with the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Note 7 Pro has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD Display whereas the Samsung Galaxy M30 has 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Display. The Redmi Note 7 Pro runs the latest version of Android (Android 9) with MIUI10 built on top. The Galaxy M30 runs on Android 8.1 with ExperienceUI 9.5 built on top.

Samsung has developed a better interface called the OneUI. The OneUI is currently available on the Samsung S10, S10+, S10e. But there’s no word when it will available on other Samsung Galaxy models. You won’t find much of a difference between these two smartphones unless you are running very heavy applications or doing heavy multitasking. The Galaxy M30 is quite underpowered for games like PUBG which the phone handles in medium graphics settings. The Redmi Note 7 Pro uses Snapdragon 675 processor. The Samsung Galaxy M30 uses the Samsung Exynos 7904 processor.

As far as LTE support is concerned both phones offer Dual LP standby. Which means that both the phones would run 4G simultaneously. Both the Galaxy M30 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro have features like dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS. The Redmi Note 7 Pro has a dual camera set up at the back with a 48MP primary sensor which in comparison to the M30 takes quite nice shots. We can turn on the 48MP mode from the settings menu or before taking a photo. The color reproduction is more accurate on the Note 7 Pro compared to the Galaxy M30.

Samsung also bundles a wide-angle camera on the Galaxy M30 that allows you to capture more area and that is not present on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. There’s also a depth sensor on both phones that allows them to capture portrait photos with background blur.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro, on the other hand, offers you better cameras both at the front and the back offers you a more premium looking glass design has a more powerful chipset.
